ABOUT OUR JEWELRY

WHAT IS BRASS

Brass is an alloy of Zinc and Copper. It has a warm and beautiful golden tone that looks almost identical to gold. Brass has been used for centuries in ancient cultures to create beautiful and decorative ornaments, as it is one of the hardest metals and super durable. Perfect for even passing down as Heirloom jewellery.

Brass is sustainable, and can be recycled over and still retain 80%+ of its value. The industry itself depends on recycled brass to survive.

CLEANING/POLISHING YOUR JEWELRY

There are a number of ways to clean your jewelry using home ingredients, but it is more advisable to use brass polish for better, and longer lasting results.

Using Brasso

We do sell sample size Brass polish. However, you can also get Brasso metal polish on Amazon.

How to use it:

  1. Shake the bottle container.
  2. Apply a small amount of the polish liquid to a dry piece of cloth.
  3. Rub the now wet cloth on the brass jewelry gently and in circular motion for a few seconds.
  4. When you are done with all sides of your jewelry, use a clean dry cloth to now wipe off the polish from the jewelry.

It is that simple. and your jewelry is as good as new.

Note, don´t be scared when the polish turns black as you rub. It's a normal reaction to the tarnish.

Using lemon and salt.

  1. Get a lemon and salt.
  2. Cut the lemon into 2 halves.
  3. Then sprinkle some generous amount of salt on top of one half of the lemon.
  4. Take your brass jewelry and rub it against the lemon and salt repeatedly. Until you're satisfied with the shine.
  5. Then place it in a bowl of cold water for about 5 minutes.
  6. Rinse it off well to remove the lemon juice.
  7. Get a soft cotton cloth to pat it dry. Rub it well till completely dry.

If you find the process a bit messy as you use the lemon, there is also another way you can do it. You can extract the lemon juice. Put salt in the extracted lemon juice then leave your jewelry for about 30 minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water, and dry it.

And that's it. You can continue rocking your jewelry. Btw, I actually find this process very refreshing. I hope you do too.

Pliz note, for pieces that are combined with other materials other than brass, do not rub them, or soak them in the lemon solution. Only soak or rub the brass sides or pieces only.
